Privacy Policy

Overview

pbqSimulator ("we", "us") builds hands-on Performance-Based Question (PBQ) practice for CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certification prep. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), and optionally your first and last name.
• Profile picture — an avatar image you choose to upload. Entirely optional.
• Practice activity — which PBQ simulations you attempt, your answers, scores, time spent, and any achievement badges you unlock. This is what powers your progress tracking.
• Payment information — handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the plan purchased, and a receipt link. We never see or store your card number.
• Support messages — anything you send us through the in-app chat widget or a contact form, so we can help you and keep a record of the conversation.

How we use this information

To run your account (sign-in, email verification, password resets), to grade and track your PBQ attempts, to process payments and grant the access you paid for, to respond to support requests, and to send transactional email — verification links, receipts, and account-security notices. We do not use your data to run ads.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, to process payments and subscriptions. Stripe has its own privacy policy governing the payment details you give it directly.
• Our email delivery provider, to send verification links, password resets, receipts, and support replies.

We do not sell your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account is active, so your progress stays intact. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information and practice history, other than what we're required to keep for legal or accounting purposes (for example, payment records).

Your rights

You can update your name and profile picture at any time from your account settings. To access a copy of your data, or to delete your account entirely, contact support@pbqsimulator.com and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

pbqSimulator is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated by email where practical.
